One Pot, with Many Stories!
Join us at Rose Hill Plantation State Historic Site on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 1:00 PM to learn about the "Communal Pot," a shared meal tradition practiced by enslaved Africans, who combined ingredients, spices, and cooking techniques from diverse cultural backgrounds to nourish one another and strengthen community despite the hardships of slavery.
Through hands-on spice activities and guided discussion, participants will discover how food became an expression of family, creativity, resilience, and cultural identity; traditions that continue to shape Soul Food today.
