One Pot, with Many Stories!
Join us at Rose Hill Plantation State Historic Site to learn about the “Communal Pot,” a shared meal tradition created by enslaved Africans who combined food, spices, and cooking traditions to care for one another and build community during slavery. Through hands-on spice activities and group discussion, participants will explore how food became a symbol of family, creativity, resilience, and cultural tradition that still influences Soul Food today.
