This event is now history, but we have many more wonderful programs in store for you!
Andrew Jackson became the Hero of New Orleans on January 8, 1815 when his men defeated the British Army. Join Ranger Laura to hear the story of this important battle as it is told from a different perspective. We will be reading The Battle of New Orleans: The Drummer's Story. Meet Jordan Noble, a 14 year old African-American drummer, who played an important part in the battle. After you read the book, make a craft to take home with you. Children ages 5 to 10 are invited but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Preregistration is required and is limited to 15 children. When registering, please use the number of children registering without including the adults who plan to participate. This program is free with park admission.
