Creek Explorers
Join a Ranger at Oconee Station State Historic Site for Creek Explorers this summer! Enjoy a guided hike (2 miles round-trip) along the Station Cove Falls Trail followed by a hands-on creek exploration as we discover the fascinating world of water-dwelling creatures. We’ll explore the creek and surrounding areas searching for frogs, fish, aquatic insects, salamanders, and other tiny critters hiding beneath rocks and along the water’s edge. Along the way, participants will learn how these amazing animals are specially adapted to life in and around the creek ecosystem.
After our exploration, we’ll take a closer look at some of our discoveries using real microscopes, making this a fun and educational outdoor adventure for all ages.<
Please wear shoes that can get wet, as we will be entering the creek during the program.
The Creek Explorers program will be held on the dates listed below, has a cost of $6 and advanced registration is required. Adults must accompany children 15 and under but do not have to register. To register, click the "Book Now" tab.
Come prepared to get curious in the creek and discover the hidden wildlife of Oconee Station!
