Event Details:
Explore Myrtle Beach State Park after dark and enjoy the forest and beach in a whole new light, and we mean that literally! Under the light of the moon, we will use ultraviolet (UV) lights to search for hidden life such as millipedes, mushrooms, lichen, caterpillars and more! It's like having our own superpower to search for these elusive wonders. It’s a fun, slightly mysterious, and totally fascinating way to experience our park after dark!
We will walk 1-mile- both in the woods and out on the beach. Only UV or red lights will be used and we will hand those out to participants.
This program is designed for adults only.
Registration Policy: This engaging program will only run with at least 5 adults enrolled. We'd love to have you join us- invite a friend! Please ensure your confirmation has the correct program and date. We may ask to see the confirmation email upon arrival (screenshot or printed).
Park admission required.
Cancellation Policy: No refunds will be given due to participant cancellations.
Weather Policy: Our programs will go on rain or shine, but we reserve the right to cancel scheduled programs for inclement weather which may include lightning, thunder, or other severe weather conditions that the staff deem potentially dangerous or unconducive to activities. In the event of the park cancelling a program, you may ask for a refund, by 4:30 pm the following day of the program, by emailing mbeachnature@scprt.com or calling 843-238-0874 with the registered name and the program. We thank you in advance for any donations to help fund educational programs.
What to Bring:
Wear closed toe shoes and dress for the weather.
