A Crabby Ex-Pier-Ience
Test your luck from the fishing pier as we try to catch a variety of crabs, fish and other fascinating critters. This is a catch and release program designed to help protect and conserve our resources for the future. The program costs $10 per person and includes a rental crab trap and wristband. Your wristband also gives you the chance to safely interact with any critters caught during the experience. Bring your own bait or buy some chicken necks from the fishing pier. Appropriate for ages 5 to 105.
Meeting Time: Check in starts at 8:45 am. After you receive your wristband, you will go inside the store to purchase chicken necks if you didn't bring your own bait. Once you have your wristband and bait, meet on the fishing pier at the large chair to get your crab trap.
Registration: Online registration is required and once capacity is reached (20 participants), registration will close. Deadline is 3pm the day before the program.
Park admission is not included in the program fee.
Registration Policy: Please ensure your confirmation has the correct program and date. We may ask to see the confirmation email upon arrival (screenshot or printed).
Cancellation Policy: No refunds will be given due to participant cancellations.
Weather Policy: Our programs will go on rain or shine, but we reserve the right to cancel scheduled programs for inclement weather which may include lightning, thunder, or other severe weather conditions that the staff deem potentially dangerous or unconducive to activities. In the event of the park cancelling a program, you may ask for a refund, by 4:30 pm the following day of the program, by emailing mbeachnature@scprt.com or calling 843-238-0874 with the registered name and the program.
