Event Details:

Test your luck from the fishing pier as we try to catch a variety of crabs, fish and many other critters. This is a catch and release program in order to help conserve our resources for the future. You must register online. In addition to park admission, program is $7 per person and includes a rental crab trap and wristband. Along with the crab trap, the wristband enables you to touch any critters participants catch! Bring your own bait or buy some chicken necks from the fishing pier. Appropriate for ages 5 to 105.

Program starts at 9 am, but please arrive 15 minutes early to check in and receive your crabbing supplies.

Online registration is required and once capacity is reached (15 crab traps), registration will close.

Deadline is the night before the program.

Registration Policy: Please ensure your confirmation has the correct program and date. We may ask to see the confirmation email upon arrival (screenshot or printed).

Cancellation Policy: No refunds will be given due to participant cancellations.

Weather Policy: Our programs will go on rain or shine, but we reserve the right to cancel scheduled programs for inclement weather which may include lightning, thunder, or other severe weather conditions that the staff deem potentially dangerous or unconducive to activities. In the event of the park cancelling a program, you may ask for a refund, by 4:30 pm the following day of the program, by emailing mbeachnature@scprt.com or calling 843-238-0874 with the registered name and the program. Meeting Location:

Check in starts at 845 am at the colorful rocking chairs outside of the fishing pier store. Once you receive your wristband at check in, stop inside the store and purchase chicken for bait, and then head out to the large photo op chair on the fishing pier to receive your crab trap.
